Reagan Foundation Announces Intention to Host GOP Presidential Debate in 2015

SIMI VALLEY, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 30, 2014) - The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation announced today that potential GOP presidential candidates will be invited to participate in a televised debate at the Reagan Library on September 16, 2015.

"Ronnie would be so pleased to know that his presidential library continues to attract America's leaders to discuss the future of the country he loved so dearly," said former First Lady Nancy Reagan. "While the candidates are still considering whether or not they will seek America's highest office, we are less than a year away from presidential debates that will start the national conversation on important issues. I can't think of a better way to honor my husband than to keep the tradition of Reagan Library-hosted debates alive."

In the shadow of Ronald Reagan's Air Force One, the Reagan Foundation hosted the first and last GOP debates during the 2007-2008 campaign season. The Foundation also organized the first debate that occurred with all of the GOP candidates during the 2011-2012 campaign.

"This marks the third presidential election cycle where the Reagan Foundation has held a Republican presidential debate," said John Heubusch, Executive Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. "The Reagan Foundation continues to remain at the forefront of our country's democratic process, just as President Reagan would have wanted it."

Further details regarding this debate will be released in the coming months.
