LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 06, 2013) - For years, reality television producers Andrew Ward and Kristen Moss wondered why there wasn't recognition and awards for the stars and crews in their field. Realizing that a reality awards event could be done with the right team, they paired up with Mark Yawitz of RealityWanted.com, the top casting site in reality television, to form the RealityWanted Awards. The event will take place on April 11, 2013 at Greystone Manor in West Hollywood, California.
The goal of the awards is not just to acknowledge the talent and the stars of reality television, but to "really recognize the teams behind the shows," said Kristen Moss. With categories like Bad Ass Crew, Most Dynamic Cast, and Most Unique Concept, all aspects of the industry will be recognized in one place. All of the categories and nominees are posted on www.RealityWantedAwards.com and production companies have submitted their shows for consideration. Next, it went to an industry vote. "Anyone in the industry was welcome to be part of the academy by registering at www.WeWorkInRealityTV.com," said Andrew Ward. That industry vote determined the nominees and from March 4th to April 8th, the voting is open to the public to determine a winner. The winners will be announced during at the awards ceremony on April 11th.
"We have received official attendee confirmations from cast members of: Mob Wives, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, RuPaul's Drag Race, Betty White's Off Their Rockers, Survivor, Big Brother, MasterChef and many more," revealed Ward. "Networks and production companies such as 44 Blue, A&E, Bravo, CBS, Embassy Row, Evolution, NBC Universal and Shine America have expressed their interest and their shows will be represented at the awards."
