Reappointment to Canada Post Corporation

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 10, 2009) - Canada's Transport Minister John Baird and the Honourable Rob Merrifield, Minister of State (Transport), today announced the reappointment of Ms. Moya Greene as president and chief executive officer of the Canada Post Corporation for a term ending May 11, 2012, effective immediately. Ms. Greene was first appointed as president and chief executive officer of the corporation on May 12, 2005.

"I am pleased that Ms. Greene has agreed to continue to serve with the Canada Post Corporation," said Baird. "Her experience in both business and government is a significant asset to the corporation."

Ms. Greene is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and Memorial University in Newfoundland and Labrador. She began her career as a junior solicitor in the law firm of Wells O'Dea Halley and later joined the federal public service as an adjudicator with Immigration Canada. This was followed by various other positions in the public sector, including senior executive positions at Human Resources Development Canada and Transport Canada. She subsequently moved to the private sector, where she held senior posts with TD Securities, CIBC and Bombardier Inc.

The Canada Post Corporation is a Crown corporation and one of the largest employers in Canada. Each working day, it delivers approximately 45 million pieces of mail to more than 15 million addresses in Canada.
