Reasons to Visit Berwick Northumberland With Haven Holidays

The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, just make sure you check the tides before you drive across or you might end up staying the night. The Lindisfarne Priory have a replica Viking boat visiting between 6th - 12th August with its own pair of Vikings and on 11th & 12th August watch out for the Viking raiders!

Alnwick Castle and gardens made famous by the Harry Potter films are offering Broomstick training right up until the 30th September. There's also an international music festival there between the 4th and 11th August and a food festival on the 22nd and 23rd September, starring Michelin star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.

Fish and chips on the beach or harbour wall of the small seaside town of Seahouses is a must and if you're there on 26th August you'll catch the start of the Great North cycle ride.

Berwick town centre is heaped with history and beauty with its Elizabethan town walls where you can look across the wide estuary of the River Tweed and be rewarded with a spectacular view of Stephensons famous viaduct bridge, which is now all lit up at night and really worth getting your camera out for. A few dates you might want to look out for are Berwick arts & crafts festival between 3rd - 6th August and the food festival on the 8th & 9th September. The Berwick film & media arts festival takes place on 19th - 23rd September.
