Rebuilding Together Philadelphia Partners With AARP to Revitalize the West Shore Community

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - May 7, 2008) - On Thursday, May 8, 2008 Rebuilding Together Philadelphia (RTP) and AARP will team up for a Day of Service in celebration of AARP's 50th Anniversary. This Day of Service marks the culmination of the West Shore Neighborhood Revitalization Project. We invite the press to tour the site: the 1300 block of S. 46th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19143 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. Rebuilding Together and AARP have joined forces at the national and local levels because the two organizations share a vision of universal design ideas at home that allow people to age in place and maintain control of their lives. Locally, thanks to a generous grant from AARP this partnership has generated a series of projects that will help revitalize the West Shore community in West Philadelphia:
