Recapture of Inmate From Waseskun Healing Centre

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - April 8, 2013) - As a result of a collaborative effort between the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), the Sûreté du Québec and the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, federal offender Sean Ryan, who had escaped from the Waseskun Healing Centre on April 3, 2013, was recaptured on April 5, 2013, in Montreal.

At the time of his escape, Sean Ryan was serving an indeterminate sentence since February 16, 1994 for Second Degree Murder, two counts of Sexual assault and Breaking and entering with intent.

CSC will review the circumstances surrounding the incident and will take necessary measures to address any safety and security issues resulting from this incident.
