Recognition Award-Young CA Leader: Spotlight on the Next Generation!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 14, 2008) - On Saturday, May 10, Jean-Pierre Allaire, FCA, Chair of the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec, presented the 2008 Recognition Award - Young CA Leader, along with a cash prize of $5,000, to Alexandre Saint-Denis, CA, during the Soiree reconnaissance at the Hyatt Regency in Montreal.

"Without a doubt, Alexandre Saint-Denis is a model for young people in our profession. His leadership, determination and risk management capabilities make him a most promising young CA leader" said Jean-Pierre Allaire.

"I am very pleased to present this award to Alexandre Saint-Denis, who has gained recognition for his humanitarian involvement, his inventiveness and his work as a risk manager," said Ms Anne-Marie Robert, FCA, Full professor and Director of the accounting sciences and taxation department of the Faculty of Administration at the Universite de Sherbrooke and member of the 2008 Young CA Leader Award selection committee.

A chartered accountant since 1999, Alexandre Saint-Denis is a risk manager with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an institution with an annual budget of over one billion dollars that employs 12,000 people in 80 countries. As early as 2002, he was active on the ground, planning and managing humanitarian efforts in hot spots around the world, including the Republic of Congo, the West Bank and Gaza strip, and Myanmar. He was a member of the emergency teams charged with setting up humanitarian operations after the 2006 earthquake in Pakistan and the Lebanese crisis in the summer of 2006. These two operations are now benchmarks for humanitarian aid during catastrophes or conflicts. Since October 2006, he has completely revised the ICRC's financial control measures.
