Recommind Innovation Turbo Charges eDiscovery

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 13, 2014) - Recommind, a leader in information intelligence, today announced major enhancements to Axcelerate, its pioneering cloud-based eDiscovery review and analysis platform. Axcelerate now includes Mission Control, a centralized operations center for review and analysis allowing case managers more control than ever before. Recommind is also extending its leading cloud-based eDiscovery platform with a self-service edition called Axcelerate SaaS, offering the control and flexibility of traditional on-premise software combined with the cost and stability benefits of cloud deployments.

Axcelerate 5 drove the eDiscovery industry forward through its combination of powerful analytics, machine learning, and a consumer grade user experience. The just released Axcelerate 5.2 adds Mission Control, a centralized operations center for review and analysis, empowering case managers by providing more control and consistency throughout the review and analysis process. It also includes Global Smart Redactions, which can now automatically redact information such as PHI, PCI and PII (Social Security, phone numbers, and more) across entire document sets at the click of a button, without pre-imaging.

"With attorney billable hours for document review having been traditionally the biggest cost in the discovery process, workflow capabilities are one of the most important attributes of eDiscovery review software," said attorney David Horrigan, analyst and counsel at 451 Research. "Features such as automated review prioritization and universal redaction can cut costs dramatically by eliminating the need for legal review teams to reinvent the wheel throughout the process."

Axcelerate 5.2 - Overview

Mission Control
Mission Control in Axcelerate 5.2 provides case managers a central operations center to manage their review processes more powerfully and easily than has ever been possible. It offers intuitive controls to optimize review efforts, new tools to automate key aspects of review workflows, and visualized, real-time intelligence to help understand progress and enable best practices repeatability across matters. Key benefits include:

  • Reducing costs through process optimization
  • Saving time lost in report generation and support requests
  • Ensuring consistent, repeatable processes across all matters

Automated Review Prioritization
Automated Review Prioritization uses machine learning to help connect the best reviewers with the most responsive content as early as possible. By prioritizing the review of likely relevant documents, the system helps to surface important documents earlier to inform case strategy. It can even automate the use of Predictive Coding based on reviewer feedback, so document suggestions will always be based on the most refined training possible. Key benefits include:

  • Increasing reviewer productivity through continual feeding of relevant content
  • Surfacing key documents and insights earlier in the review process
  • Minimizing case manager effort by applying controlled automation

Global Smart Redactions
Axcelerate 5 introduced the concept of Smart Redactions, the ability to redact sensitive information from documents using point and click, search and entity recognition. Now in Axcelerate 5.2 these same methods for applying redactions can be applied globally. This means entire document sets can have personally identifiable information (PII), such as social security numbers or phone numbers, redacted with just a couple of clicks, instead of manual, document by document processes used today. Key benefits include:

  •  Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, PCI-DSS and other data privacy standards
  •  Reducing costs with no pre-imaging required to redact
  •  Saving time by removing delays in review process

Axcelerate SaaS - Overview
Recommind is also announcing Axcelerate SaaS, a self-service SaaS alternative to traditional on-premise or managed service eDiscovery solutions. With Axcelerate SaaS, customers can enjoy an end-to-end, cloud-based eDiscovery platform to perform early case assessment, searching, culling, processing, analysis, review and production but now in a flexible self-service cloud offering.

Axcelerate SaaS provides the ultimate flexibility; customers can be up and running in a matter of hours, and can adjust capacity to meet their fluctuating needs. It is delivered as a simple subscription-based service with monthly fees based on capacity / data volumes, therefore offering a predictable and affordable pricing model with no upfront costs and no hidden fees.

"Recommind's cloud-based Axcelerate platform gives Pillsbury and our clients tremendous analytic horsepower within an intuitive platform that our attorneys can quickly understand and readily put to use," said David L. Stanton, leader of the Information Law and Electronic Discovery Practice at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. "As our eDiscovery needs change, we can choose a deployment tailored for each individual client and case, and we have the distinct advantage of working directly with the creators of the technology."

Compared to traditional on-premise eDiscovery deployments, Axcelerate SaaS removes the need for costly implementation, customization, maintenance, and capital costs for hardware or facilities. Axcelerate SaaS clients can also utilize Recommind's expert project management and consulting services to augment their own resource capabilities when needed.

"Recommind is pushing the boundaries of innovation within eDiscovery at a rapid rate," said Bob Tennant, CEO, Recommind. "We remain committed to driving the industry forward by creating cutting edge software features, such as Global Smart Redactions, to optimize and automate some of the most time consuming and painful processes litigation support teams face today."

The new capabilities and functionality in Axcelerate 5.2 and Axcelerate SaaS, will be available to all new and existing customers. Pricing includes unlimited user access and further details can be found here.
