Record Numbers of Web Users Visit Local Sites; YouGetIt.com Poised to Grab Large Percentage of Local News Surfers

Recently Launched Local Social Media Site Takes Advantage of Citizen Journalism, News Feeds to Bring Local News to Forefront

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - July 12, 2007) - A record 59 million people -- more than a third of America's Internet users -- visited local news websites in the first quarter of 2007, according to Nielsen/NetRatings for the Newspaper Association of America. This shift to online consumption of news media accompanies the decline in overall printed newspaper readership that has been dogging the industry for the last few years. Newspapers are trying to make the successful transition to online media, adding social network functionality such as user reviews, comments, and discussion areas. YouGetIt.com (www.YouGetIt.com), a social network that brings local news and events front and center for its users, takes local sites to a new level.

"YouGetIt.com is the first website to do local news, events, and alerts for every zip code in America," said William Mobley, CEO of Web2 Corp (OTCBB: WBTO). "We're a nationwide social media application with over 200,000 local community areas already built in. We're going beyond the model of newspaper or broadcast media, building a complete social network centered around the community. By enabling citizen journalism, opening up the event calendar to the whole community, and creating a forum where community news and community members can interact constantly, we're changing expectations for local news. There will always be a place for professional, objective journalism -- which is why YouGetIt.com also includes any newsfeeds that the user decides to subscribe to from other news sites -- but for the local community, the instant responsiveness of the Internet means that people can see the news, receive alerts on their cell-phones and in their e-mail, and they can react to local events in real time."

YouGetIt.com, which launched its public Beta in April at the Web2Expo to rave reviews and positive press, has been rapidly improving and innovating as its users define their wants and needs for the powerful social media application. It has already partnered its local e-commerce section with powerful e-commerce site creator www.ChamberECommerce.com, and is in discussions with other companies to possibly form partnerships and offer users improved functionality in other areas as well.
