Recycling Railcars Helps Deliver National Kidney Screening Program

The Kidney Foundation of Canada to Announce New Nation-Wide Program

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 6, 2011) - The shearing of a CN railcar will mark the launch of a new national screening program by The Kidney Foundation of Canada (KFOC) that will improve the health of Canadians across the country. Funding for the project will take the form of out-of-service railcars being donated by CN to the Foundation's Kidney Metals Program, a metal recycling initiative with ABC Recycling Ltd., over a three-year period. The targeted screening program, a first of its kind, will enable early identification and prevention of chronic kidney disease in communities across Canada.
