Red Back Appoints New CFO and VP Corporate Development

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 5, 2007) - Red Back Mining Inc. (the "Company" or "Red Back") (TSX:RBI) is pleased to advise of changes to the senior management team.

Alessandro Bitelli has been appointed Chief Financial Officer effective immediately. Mr Bitelli is a Chartered Accountant with over 12 years experience in the resource industry. Previously he worked for international chartered accounting firms for 13 years.

Simon Jackson, Red Back's CFO for the past eight years, will take up the position of Vice President, Corporate Development. Mr Jackson has over 20 years experience in the resource industry and has been instrumental in Red Back's move to Canada and the Company's continuing transition to a mid tier gold producer.
