Red Lion Area School District Roars With New High-Tech Green Initiatives, in Business Review USA

Red Lion Area School District's Innovative Approach to Teaching Technology, Expands the Minds of Students Through Elite Education

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - May 18, 2012) - In a report in Business Review USA, District Superintendent Dr. Scott A. Diesley, as well as Business Manager Terry Robinson and Director of Technology Services Jared P. Mader discuss how the hard work of Red Lion Area's educators and administration has created a safe zone for students to expand, embrace the new, and excel. This commitment to student growth is bound to keep Red Lion Area School District on the map -- as one of Pennsylvania's elite public school districts to beat.

The Red Lion Area School District does more than just educate its students -- it immerses them in a high-tech hub of knowledge, where learning is gleaned through first hand experiences and life changing opportunities. Composed of seven elementary schools, one junior high school and a comprehensive high school, Red Lion Area has been educating the children and young adults of Red Lion and its surrounding communities in southern York County Pennsylvania for over fifty years.

While the district has a notable history rich in tradition, their current aim is to prepare their students to thrive in the future landscape of tomorrow. Superintendent Dr. Scott A. Deisley explains Red Lion Area's drive is to educate tomorrow's thinkers. "Our main focus is preparing our students to live in the 21st century environment. We are trying hard to move forward, to adjust what we are doing so that we don't just do the same traditional approaches, but rather becoming more relevant to our students' lives for where they are heading in the future."

Red Lion Area School District does what it needs to do to provide the best education imaginable for its students. Former Chemistry teacher turned Director of Technology Services Jared P. Mader has helped transform the technological reality of Red Lion Area, upgrading the district into a state-of-the-art digital vortex of the future.

Mader describes the focus of his tech initiatives, "All of our decisions revolve around this fundamental question: Are we preparing our students for the digital age?" This focused goal has sparked a flurry of changes. Most drastically, the district has upgraded their Internet and local network connections to run off of fiber optic cable and cutting-edge microwave technology. "We have virtualized much of our server fleet, so we are seeing about a seventy-five percent reduction of energy costs for those servers," says Mader.
