Red Pine Drill Results and Exploration Update

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 1, 2011) - Red Pine Exploration Inc. ("Red Pine" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RPX) is pleased to provide assays from drill holes targeting gold mineralization on its Saracourt Property west of Timmins, Ontario. The program consisted of 2,067.5 meters of drilling over 9 diamond drill holes. Highlights of mineralized intercepts are provided in the table below:

The gold intersection in RPX11-07 confirms the eastward extension of the Michelle zone by approximately 100m as shown below.

An image of the Michelle Zone showing the gold intersections is available on the Red Pine Exploration website at www.redpineexp.com by viewing the September 1, 2011 press release.

The mineralization intersected in diamond drill holes confirms the association of gold with sulphidic horizons within the Property. The Company is currently following-up the drill program with a regional till sampling program.

Till sampling on Saracourt, Butler-Yarie, and Ava Claire properties

Red Pine is currently conducting a till sampling program over the Saracourt, Butler-Yarie, and Ava-Claire properties where the percentage of outcrops is generally less than 10%. This means that over 90% of the areas have never been prospected due to the lack of outcrop. In addition, a higher density of till samples will be collected in the proximity of documented gold zones to evaluate the possibility of having parallel or stacked zones that might be more important than the known zones.

Recent structural interpretations suggest that the structural setting on all 3 properties is highly favourable for gold mineralization. The objective of this sampling program is to evaluate the presence of additional gold zones under the extensive till cover where favourable structures are interpreted. The results of the till sampling program will then be combined with the detailed geophysical surveys available and the structural interpretations completed for those areas to generate exploration and drill targets.

Costello Property Examination

The Costello Property was recently visited by Jean-Philippe Desrochers, P.Geo. The Costello Property is located along the Bristol fault, a splay of the Destor Porcupine Deformation Corridor, and is underlain by strongly deformed sedimentary rock units of the Porcupine Group. Limited exploration work has been conducted on the property despite the presence of gold bearing quartz veins, and its close proximity to Lakeshore's Timmins mine (893,000 ounces) and Thunder Creek/Rusk Zone.

An image of the Costello Property showing magnetics and gold bearing zones is available on the Red Pine Exploration website at www.redpineexp.com by viewing the September 1, 2011 press release.

Red Pine is currently compiling all the available data and is processing the magnetic data through inversion in order to identify structural settings where gold might be concentrated. The areas of interest would specifically be:

  1. Contact between the sedimentary rocks and the volcanic rocks

  2. Porphyry zones

  3. Gold-bearing shear zones

About The SaraCourt Property

The SaraCourt Property is a regional land package of contiguous, high-potential gold properties totalling approximately 28,000 hectares of patented and unpatented mining lands. Located in and along the newly defined DZ3 Gold Deformation Corridor, the Property holds a series of deformation zones and regional fault branches that host abundant gold showings and join the Destor-Porcupine Deformation Zone to the northeast, and join to the western extension of the Larder Lake Deformation Zone fault that branches to the southwest. The Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone is spatially associated with gold deposits in the Timmins-Porcupine Gold Camp that have produced more than 65 million ounces gold to date.

Kirk McKinnon, President and CEO stated "Red Pine's SaraCourt Property has anomalous gold in a number of areas encompassing various geologic settings. We are now actively exploring West of the growing gold camp of Trelawney Mining and Augen Gold. It should be noted that for years the Swayze belt did not give up much in the way of exploration success – however the image of the Swayze has been changes with the success of Trelawney and Augen to the East and Probe Mines to the West of the SaraCourt and Ava-Claire properties".

Ava-Claire Property

The Ava-Claire property is set in a similar environment as Probe Mines' Bordan Lake discovery. Our geologic interpretation of the data available to date indicates the extension of the "Borden Lake Belt" as identified by Probe Mines through the center of Ava-Claire. The current till sampling program is designed to identify favourable locations for further exploration.

An image of the Ava Claire Property showing the interpreted geologic boundary shared with Probe Mines Borden Lake Property is available on the Red Pine Exploration website at www.redpineexp.com by viewing the September 1, 2011 press release.

Quentin Yarie, P.Geo, Senior Vice President of Exploration is the qualified person for the technical data contained within this report.
