Government meets behind closed doors while making decisions about worker-funded pensions without negotiation
EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Feb. 24, 2014) - The elected leaders of some of Alberta's largest unions are going to wait in -25°C weather outside Government House in the hope that the Redford Government might relent and negotiate about pensions with the representatives of those who actually contribute to the plans.
A mock negotiating session will be held outside Government House as Finance Minister Doug Horner meets inside with provincial-appointed pension board trustees to tell them about the government's latest plans for pension changes.
