Redis Creator, Salvatore Sanfilippo (Antirez), Joins Redis Labs

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 15, 2015) - Redis Labs announced today that the creator of open source Redis, Salvatore Sanfilippo (Antirez), is joining the company as Lead, Open Source Redis Development. In this capacity, Salvatore will continue to lead the development of the enormously popular open source in-memory NoSQL database, a role he performed previously at Pivotal Inc. and VMware.

Founded in 2011, Redis Labs has seen tremendous growth with over 5,000 paying customers and 31,000 additional customers using its free offering, creating over 104,000 databases with its technology.
