Redline introduces RedMAX'TM' Indoor WiMAX Subscriber Unit

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - May 24, 2006) -

RedMAX SU-I accelerates carriers' WiMAX evolution with easy user-installation and upgradeability to new technologies

Redline Communications, a leading provider of standards-based wireless broadband equipment, today introduced the RedMAX™ Indoor Subscriber Unit (SU-I), the latest addition to its RedMAX family of WiMAX products. The user-installable RedMAX SU-I will enable software upgrades to new WiMAX technologies, enabling carriers to quickly establish their networks and evolve with the WiMAX ecosystem.

Commercially available in the second half of 2006, the RedMAX SU-I is the latest component of Redline's RedPATH architecture roadmap, a three-phase WiMAX product and network evolution strategy that will accelerate carriers' WiMAX network and revenue growth.

"With the introduction of RedMAX SU-I, carriers can quickly expand their network and capitalize on revenue opportunities by extending their WiMAX services to small business and residential subscribers," said Keith Doucet, Vice President, Product Management, Redline Communications. "Carriers considering large scale roll outs now have a self-install service application which will eliminate the need for truck rolls, and ultimately enhance the business case," he added.

The RedMAX SU-I is the most compact indoor, user self-installable WiMAX desktop unit available today. The SU-I also offers the most flexibility in deployment options, with an integrated diversity antenna that can be removed for wall or window mounting to maximize the WiMAX performance.

Redline's RedPATH Architecture Roadmap

The RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Unit is an important component of the Redline's RedPATH architecture roadmap, which provides carriers with a clear business and network deployment strategy that leverages their WiMAX investment. RedPATH is a three stage approach that guides Redline's RedMAX product development from supporting today's fixed and portable services, to products that will enable carriers to expand and enhance their services, and delivers on the promise of full mobility.

With the first phase now complete, operators can establish a WiMAX network that delivers on the performance and interoperability requirements of WiMAX Forum Certified™ products, with an open architecture and management system which is a key component for carrier-class networks.

Redline is now delivering on phase two of RedPATH, which will enable operators to expand their services to enhanced fixed services and portable applications. The RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Unit will accelerate the expansion of WiMAX networks to include residential and small business users. Also in this phase, operators can benefit from a new RedMAX base station architecture that will support either or both of today's WiMAX standards. The third phase of RedPATH will enable RedMAX network operators to evolve to mobile service offerings with advanced physical layer technologies including MIMO and AAS antennas that ensure the ubiquitous coverage required for a profitable mobile business model.

Redline's RedMAX products have been chosen by carriers in International markets for nation-wide deployments and network trials. Among the first to install RedMAX for a nation-wide network is Hrvatske Telekomunikacije d.d (T-HT), a Croatian telecommunications company owned by Deutsche Telecom. The T-HT deployment is being managed by MICROLINK, a distributor and system integrator of wireless communication systems for digital data transmission. RedMAX is also being deployed by Integrated Telecom Company Ltd. (ITC), a licensed data service provider in Saudi Arabia as part of the (U.S.) $22.2 million first phase of its region-wide broadband network.

Redline's RedMAX Family

Redline's RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions includes the world's first complete network to receive the WiMAX Forum Certified™ mark for conformance to the strict standards for performance and interoperability. The carrier-class RedMAX Base Station (AN-100U) supports voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, enabling long-range, high-capacity wireless broadband networks. Redline's WiMAX products also includes the RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Unit (SU-I) and Outdoor Subscriber Unit (SU-O) designed for enterprise and residential services. The RedMAX Management Suite enables operators to monitor and control the network, ensuring high service availability.
