Redline and Rogers Communications Activate First Live WiMAX-based Connection in Canada

Rogers executives to deliver video address at International Intel event via Redline's WiMAX-based system

Redline Communications, a leading provider of standards-based broadband wireless equipment, today announced it has established a WiMAX wireless connection in Ontario, Canada to deliver a live video broadcast with Rogers Communications executives in Canada to the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco on August 23, 2005.

The WiMAX connection was established using Redline's RedMAX equipment, which incorporates the Intel PRO/Wireless 5116 WiMAX modem silicon. The live video broadcast will be transmitted via the WiMAX-based connection that Redline has established in the Muskoka region of Ontario, Canada. The broadcast will be aired as part of the Intel Developer Forum, which will be attended by technology professionals from more than 1,400 companies around the world.

Redline conducted the world's first live 'over the air' demonstration of indoor and outdoor IEEE 802.16 2004-compliant networking equipment (upon which WiMAX is based) at several telecommunications industry events including SUPERCOMM2005 in Chicago and at WCA2005 in Washington. RedMAX products are currently undergoing certification testing at the Cetecom labs in Malaga, Spain.
