Redmond's Legacy Roofing Breaks Ground for New 21,000 Square-Foot Office

16-Year-Old Company Locating to New Site to Better Serve Seattle and Eastside Customers

REDMOND, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 2, 2005 -- Legacy Roofing, a 16-year old quality roofing installation company servicing Seattle and Eastside homeowners, broke ground for their new Redmond office in a July 22 ceremony attended by more than 125 guests, including Mayor Rosemarie Ives. The approximately two-acre site, located near Overlake Christian Church at 9680 153rd Avenue Northeast, will house the company's new 21,000 square foot office building, plus an adjacent work yard. The project, scheduled for completion in January 2006, replaces Legacy Roofing's former Redmond location on Union Hill Road and will enable the company to more effectively serve its roofing customers. The new building was designed by Seattle architect Lance Mueller of Seattle-based Lance Mueller and Associates, and will be built by Seattle's BNBuilders.

"In 1989 we started out as a very small operation, but today we have 140 employees and average more than 140 roofing projects per month," said Cliff Hurn, founder and chief executive officer of privately held Legacy Roofing. "The new facility is a significant milestone for Legacy Roofing and our future growth, and we look forward to many more successful years contributing to the Redmond business community, while continuing our commitment to outstanding customer service. We're honored Mayor Ives, and so many other important guests attended our groundbreaking ceremony to wish us well."

Since its founding, Legacy Roofing has continued to increase its revenue year after year. In its first year of operation, the company completed 200 roof projects, which grew to 1,200 in 2004, and is currently projected to service 1700 projects in 2005. Legacy Roofing's 2004 revenue was $13.5 million; a 35% increase over last year. The new office building and yard will better support the company's plan for continued growth.

Mayor Ives, Hurn, and other Legacy executives all spoke at the 10 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony emceed by Hurn's long-time business associate Clay Meeker, of Anbrook Industries. Following the speeches, Hurn and Legacy Roofing Vice President Rima Shutin performed the commemorative first "gold shovel" dig. Guests, including other city and community officials, and Legacy Roofing's business associates, friends and staff, were then treated to cake featuring an image of the company's new office.
