Redwood Announces Service Level Agreement Analytics Module

Predict and Correct Service Level Agreement (SLA) Breaches Before They Become a Problem

HOUTEN, THE NETHERLANDS--(Marketwire - March 14, 2011) - Redwood Software ( announced the general availability of a new SLA management module for its Cronacle and SAP® Central Process Scheduling enterprise process automation solutions. The Redwood SLA Management module alerts users before a defined service level is breached, providing the valuable lead-time needed to keep business processes running on time and on target -- always. This revolutionary capability enhances Redwood's powerful workload automation capabilities and enables IT professionals to keep business requirement SLAs perpetually fulfilled.

"Monitoring is vital to the whole workload automation solution, with the status of the execution being vital to the enterprise. Because so much is riding on a proper batch execution, the business needs assurance that the jobs and plans were executed as scheduled."
Forrester Research, Inc., Market Overview: Workload Automation, Q3 2009, November 2009

The new module captures data for currently executing workload and compares it against historical data for the same suite of tasks, using this combined information to assess any potential impact on process completion times. Because the module is a continually running background process, each defined SLA is constantly monitored. All deviations are flagged, automatically assessed and potential SLA exceptions raised until the process successfully completes.

The module can manage any number of dependent and independent tasks for almost any process situation, monitoring job chains transparently and dynamically to measure current process execution. As soon as the module determines that an upcoming SLA will not be met, it immediately raises an event and can initiate corrective actions such as increasing resources or 'throttling' less critical processes, sending alerts to users via email, SNMP or other means.

"With enterprise process automation, timing is everything. And yet, having to address a problem after an SLA has been breached is still a major issue for IT departments," said Chris Lentz, Director of Product Management at Redwood. "The impact to the business can be significant if, for instance, bank deposits aren't run on time or utilities bills aren't processed. Predicting these events means that SLA's never have to be breached. The Redwood SLA Management module not only saves time and effort for IT, it can save real money for any enterprise."
