RedXDefense CEO Dr. Regina E. Dugan Named Director of DARPA -- Joseph "Keith" Kellogg, Lieutenant General, US Army (Ret.), Named Next CEO of RedXDefense
ROCKVILLE, MD--(Marketwire - July 2, 2009) - On behalf of the Under Secretary of Defense
for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, Dr. Ashton B. Carter, Director
of Defense Research and Engineering Mr. Zachary J. Lemnios today announced
the appointment of Dr. Regina E.
Dugan, president & CEO of RedXDefense, as the 19th Director of
the Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA). DARPA is the principal agency within the Department of
Defense for research, development, and demonstration of concepts, devices,
and systems that provide highly advanced military capabilities for the
current and future combat force.
Effective July 6, 2009, Lieutenant General, US Army (Ret.), Keith Kellogg,
a highly decorated war veteran with 32 years of service in the U.S. Army,
will succeed Dugan as CEO of RedXDefense.
General Jack Keane, United States Army (Ret.), former Vice Chief of Staff
of the Army, and Senior Partner, SCP Partners, comments, "In selecting

Kellogg's military career included two tours in Vietnam and service as the
82nd Airborne Division's chief of staff during Operations Desert Shield and
Desert Storm. The 82nd Airborne Division is the largest military parachute
force in the world. In his last active duty assignment, Kellogg worked for
the Joint Chiefs of Staff as Director of Command, Control, Communications
and Computers (C4) for all U.S. forces. His awards include the
Distinguished Service Medal, the Silver Star, and several Bronze Stars.
Immediately prior to joining RedX, General Kellogg held the position of
Executive Vice President, Research and Technology Systems of CACI
International Inc. CACI provides intelligence, information technology, and
logistics support for the U.S. Army and other Defense Department clients in
the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. From 2002 to 2003,
he served as the Senior Vice President of Homeland Security Solutions for
Oracle Corporation, where he was tasked with addressing the Nation's
Homeland Defense. He was called back to duty from November 2003 through
March 2004, to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the Coalition
Provisional Authority (CPA) in Baghdad, Iraq. He played a key role in the
effort to rebuild Iraq and bridge the link between security and critical
infrastructure. As a result of his service, the Secretary of Defense
awarded Kellogg the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public
Service, the highest defense award that civilians may receive.
Mr. Tom McVeigh, RedX's current COO, will assume the position of President
& COO with expanded responsibilities for the corporation's daily
operations. Mr. McVeigh was one of the original members of RedXDefense,
and rose from the position of VP of Software Development to COO. He is an
experienced executive with outstanding technical and leadership skills.
