AUSTIN TX--(Marketwired - October 17, 2016) - The Region One Education Service Center (ESC) in Southern Texas, and Periscope Holdings, a leading procurement solutions provider for the public sector, today announced the availability of the eBuyOne eProcurement system.
Region One ESC is part of a state-wide system established by the 59th Texas Legislature to help school districts operate more efficiently and economically and, ultimately, implement more high-impact student education initiatives. Not only will this new eBuyOne system streamline purchasing for all Region One ESC members, but it will enable the 37 school districts and 10 charter school systems in Region One ESC's seven-county service area to improve overall resource utilization.
"The Region One Education Service Center Purchasing Cooperatives serve hundreds of members including public school districts, charters schools, and municipalities in and out of the Region One ESC service area," said Lori A. Ramos, Region One ESC Purchasing Coordinator. "With our new eBuyOne eProcurement system from Periscope Holdings, we can bring even greater time and money savings to our members while providing local businesses an easier way to locate and respond to bid opportunities."
The eBuyOne system eliminates the complexities and redundancies of purchasing for Region One ESC and its purchasing cooperative members, making it easier than ever to get the best product for the best price. eBuyOne also helps local businesses by digitizing the bid notification and response process, which simplifies the process of doing business with Region One ESC members.
"Periscope Holdings commends Region One ESC for embracing technology to transform procurement for the betterment of their students and the entire public," said Brian Utley, CEO of Periscope Holdings. "Though the state of Texas advocates for improved school district support, it was Region One alone that took the initiative to implement meaningful change. They understand that with the right technology and systems in place, purchasing can become a process that saves money, promotes opportunity for local businesses and puts dollars back into the classroom. We are proud to help Region One ESC fulfill their noble mission to serve Texas children and families."
eBuyOne functionality currently includes sourcing and electronic response capabilities for suppliers, Region One ESC and McAllen ISD. Contract ordering for all Region One ESC members is scheduled for later this year.
