Registration for 2014 TAIPEI 101 Run Up Race Begins!

Participants of the First Race Are Invited to Join the Celebration to Mark the 10th Anniversary of the TAIPEI 101


TAIPEI, TAIWAN--(Marketwired - Apr 3, 2014) - A total of 30 admissions will be reserved for those veteran participants who still possess their certificate of the race in 2005, although the registration is always filled up quickly. These 30 veteran racers will be welcomed and invited to join the celebration to mark TAIPEI 101's 10th anniversary.

Backman Tony Xue and Running Shoe Association Chairman Wu Hsing-chuan will join the press conference and share their experiences and thoughts with the public on April 3, now that they have been two veteran participants of the annual activity since 2005.

A total of 4,000 admissions of the "self challenging" group will be issued to mark the 10th anniversary

To encourage more participants, TAIPEI 101 decided to allow more admissions to the "self challenging" group from 3,000 to 4,000 this year. On top of the "elite," "relay" and "company" groups, approximate a total of 5,000 participants can be expected for this year's run up race.

Meanwhile, while Paul Crake from Australia and Andrea Mayr from Austria continue to hold their records of 10'29"32 and 12'38"85 since 2005, TAIPEI 101 is expecting new records from all the participants this year.

TAIPEI 101 invites diplomats from foreign allies to join the "relay" group

The TAIPEI 101 Run Up Race is regarded as one of the most events for the Vertical World Circuit and the Tower running World Cup. In addition to establishing ally relationship with other skyscrapers in the world, TAIPEI 101 would also invite those diplomats from the nation's foreign allies to join the event.

Total steps: 2046
Total height: 390 meters
Admissions of different groups:
1. Elite 101
2. Company 30, 20 people each
3. Self challenging 4000
Registration is available between 12pm April 4 and 6pm April 6 (Taipei Time), but can be concluded earlier upon early full house.
