National Conversation on Spas and Their Impact; Spa Luncheon Will Feature Menu Selections Inspired by Two Esteemed Spas

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - February 23, 2011) - Registration is open on a first-come basis for Washington Spa Alliance's First Annual Symposium that will be held at the National Press Club here on March 24, 2011. Keynoting the inaugural event is Philippe Bourguignon, vice chairman of Revolution, LLC and CEO of Miraval. Seating is limited.

Titled New Realities: Redefining the American Spa Experience, the Symposium will gather leading minds in the disciplines of health, food, science, beauty, travel and sustainability for a discussion of common issues. The Symposium is the first to acknowledge that the spa industry is the field that envelops all of these areas. The event will illuminate the importance of working together to promote the wellbeing of the nation.

This is a singular time in our nation's history, when Washington is looking closely at how our country can be healthier. Americans increasingly have turned to spas to learn the importance of diet and exercise, the benefits of organic plant-based diets, to redefine ideas of beauty and wellbeing, and to learn techniques of stress-reduction, and preventive medicine.

The luncheon will feature Miraval Executive Chef Chad Luethje and former Canyon Ranch Chef Susan Delbert. The menu will feature selections from Miraval and Rancho La Puerta.
