Registration Opens for 2011 Online News Association Conference in Boston

WASHINGTON, D.C.--(Marketwire - Apr 11, 2011) - The Online News Association, the world's largest membership organization of digital journalists, today opened registration for the 2011 Online News Association Conference and Awards Banquet (ONA11), coming to Boston's Marriott Copley Place Sept. 22-24 to celebrate the best digital media has to offer.

The conference has become known for ahead-of-the-curve training for digital journalists; keynote speakers leading the charge in the media and technology space -- such as ONA019 keynote Tim Armstrong, CEO of AOL, and ONA09's Evan Williams, CEO of Twitter -- and a chance to preview and play with the latest digital tools, gadgets and apps.

Sessions will feature practical and outside-the-box topics and tracks suggested and voted on by the nearly 200 respondents to ONA's 2011 Session Selector.

Looking for a job -- or that next key hire? Attend the fourth annual Career Summit and Job Fair, Sept. 22. The Career Summit will feature creative thinking and practical assessment of career and job paths, including where the jobs are for online news professionals and what skills cutting-edge companies want and need now. At the Job Fair, job-seekers will meet one-on-one with a large gathering of recruiters from major media and tech companies.

The ONA11 committee is also looking for volunteers to work before and during the conference in exchange for a sizable discount on registration. Contact the committee at ONA11@journalists.org.

Because the conference has sold out for the past three years, early registration is recommended to ensure attendance at the best rate.

A one-year professional, associate or academic membership in ONA is $75, and brings with it a savings of $200 on non-member conference rates. Join here.

The Online News Association is the world's largest association of online journalists. ONA's mission is to inspire innovation and excellence among journalists to better serve the public.
