Relational Solutions Announces Version 2.0 of "BlueSky Demand Planning & Forecasting"

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwire - October 15, 2009) - Relational Solutions announced the second major release of their BlueSky Demand Planning and Item Forecasting application.

BlueSky Demand Planning & Forecasting is a powerful yet affordable, state-of-the-art forecasting application crafted for Consumer Goods Manufacturers. It is designed to dramatically improve forecast accuracy for account teams, category managers and supply chain managers. Account teams no longer need to spend days or weeks gathering historical sales information in Excel to develop their sales forecasts and budgets. BlueSky Demand Planning & Forecasting automates the entire process, reducing error prone manual methods while greatly improving forecast accuracy.

Using its built in Intelligent Selection, BlueSky Demand Planning and Forecasting analyzes historical data, chooses the optimal forecast algorithm using proven statistical methods and creates a go-forward forecast. You can adjust single points, ranges or totals, using percentages, increments or by simply entering new values.

With its Event Optimizer you can adjust the forecast based on events such as promotions and holidays. Using its Top-Down forecasting feature, if you've defined a multiple-level hierarchy, adjusting a value at any given level will automatically adjust all appropriate levels.

With BlueSky Demand Planning and Item Forecasting you can create stunning reports and charts. You can graph your results on a time series or year-over-year basis. In addition, the reports and charts can be fully exported to Excel for emailing and sharing with others.

Leveraging the POSmart database, the "Intelligent Selection" built in to the BlueSky Demand Planning and Forecasting recognizes each item's velocity, and seasonality. "Intelligent Selection" dynamically identifies the statistical forecast model most appropriate for each item and automatically generates the sales forecast for each item. That forecast can then be sent to the forecasting team who can apply it to their manufacturing forecast. You can select a different forecast model with a simple click of the mouse and regenerate the forecast on the fly.
