Relativity and Digital Reef to Deliver Integrated eDiscovery Customer Experience

New Digital Reef Review Exchange for Relativity Creates Seamless Integration of ESI Processing, Early Case Assessment and Legal Review Capabilities

BOXBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - January 25, 2011) -  Digital Reef (, a leading software provider of the first massively scalable and open software for eDiscovery and digital information governance, today announced a new development partnership with Relativity. The partnership provides a seamless experience between users of Digital Reef eDiscovery and Relativity, kCura's complete review platform with the power to handle the largest and most complex electronic discovery projects. The new Digital Reef Review Exchange allows litigation support professionals and legal counsel to exchange culled, review-ready native files and documents directly within Relativity.

The benefits include the ability to work with best-in-class solutions for matter collections, processing, ECA, and legal review while the eDiscovery software automatically manages the legal process and flow of information per the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). Customers will realize time and cost savings while avoiding errors by eliminating the need to customize review-ready manifests and manually load native files. In addition, the Review Exchange provides an integration to allow Relativity users to execute additional searches and analysis using the power of Digital Reef, without leaving the Relativity user interface. Attorneys and litigation support users both benefit from spending significantly less administrative time and effort loading and exporting data, while the integration accelerates litigation processing and review. This latest integration is part of Digital Reef's Open eDiscovery approach with the goal to create a collaborative and proactive environment for all members of the legal process. The Open eDiscovery approach brings speed and cost savings and a low technology investment to the end users. Digital Reef will be demonstrating the Review Exchange for Relativity at the LegalTech 2011 conference taking place in New York from January 31 - February 2 in Digital Reef Booth 1404.

"We are working with kCura and Digital Reef on defining a highly effective and automated process from litigation hold to collection to review. We see this as the next major evolution of eDiscovery platforms, where law firms like us can create an open, integrated legal platform that ultimately benefits our clients by keeping down the costs of eDiscovery while quickening the process as a whole," said Bruce Blank, Foley & Lardner LLP.

"Enterprises, law firms, and services providers alike are demanding more effective ways to get legal matters into attorney review. The new Digital Reef Legal Exchange for Relativity removes the need for manual export and import between products, offering cost and time savings for litigation support, and letting attorneys focus on their most vital task: reviewing," said Katey Wood, Analyst, ESG.

"Digital Reef brings a collaborative approach to building valuable eDiscovery software solutions," said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. "With the Digital Reef Review Exchange, our clients benefit from an all-in-one approach, but retain the advantage of working with best-in-breed solutions. We look forward to building a long-lasting relationship with Digital Reef's team."

Added Bob Lentz, CEO, Digital Reef, Inc., "This changes the game of eDiscovery for enterprises, law firms and service providers. With the Review Exchange for Relativity, we can now offer complete eDiscovery solutions, delivered on-premise or via a hosted model, including scalable collections, preservation, processing, ECA and legal review. With this open, collaborative eDiscovery strategy, we're the only company providing a proven platform for best in class eDiscovery."
