Relax, It's Only the Economy: Sponsors Hudson and Vaco Help Job Seekers De-Stress

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - September 9, 2009) - OutOfWorkChicago members may be stressed over their employment, but sponsors Hudson and Vaco want to put you at ease.

This month's OutOfWorkChicago event features therapists giving hand and chair massages in addition to a few other surprises. While OWC co-founder Erik Jensen notes the economy, which hit 9.7 percent unemployment in August, causes people stress and uncertainty, there is hope.

"Hudson is experiencing an uptick in Chicago area temporary jobs and has job vacancies in legal, finance and IT," said Kara Nickels, general manager at Hudson. "The recent employment report reveals a lessening decline among temporary jobs. This is a good sign as traditionally the temporary job market points to changes in overall hiring."

The event is Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Pazzo's, 311 S. Wacker Drive. OWC events bring hundreds of mature, highly qualified professionals with diverse skills across a broad range of industries together with recruiters, companies with real job openings to fill, and employment consultants who offer free advice on everything from resume writing and interviewing skills to etiquette and tips for using social media to enhance your job search.

OWC events have been successful in helping people navigate troubled times in employment by matching them with employers, freelance opportunities and other people with complementary skills for new business ventures. (Employer Testimonial)

This month's featured speaker is Mike Mataraza who will talk about emotional fitness and staying focused in tough times. Employment coach and radio personality Lauren Milligan will explain how to put life back into an extended job search.

It's open to the public for $20 with advanced registration at OutOfWorkChicago, or $30 at the door. Advance registrants get their resumes sent to employers who will be recruiting prior to the event. Free appetizers will be served and drink specials include $6 wine and $5 imported beer.

OWC's premier sponsor is Hudson, a leading provider of permanent recruitment, contract professionals and talent management services in financial solutions, legal and IT.

OWC also welcome's Vaco to the Chicago market. The specialists in matching strong accounting, financial, IT and administrative professionals with the unique project and permanent needs of clients has 26 locations and in 2008 served 1,025 customers with revenues in excess of $116 million.
