TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 14, 2009) - Trinity Square Video Gallery presents internationally acclaimed documentary filmmaker Janis Cole with her inaugural installation, a multi-channel video exhibition on the sixty-five missing women of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, Remember Their Names.

Sixty-five women disappeared from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside between 1978 and 2001. It turned out many had been murdered and thirty-three cases remain unsolved. Using documentary artifacts left behind Janis Cole propels the "missing women" to women who are missed.

Cole's films include P4W: Prison for Women (1981), Hookers on Davie (1984) and Bowie: One in a Million (2000). She has won a Genie, Writer's Guild Top Ten, Toronto Arts Award and Best Canadian Short Film at the Toronto International Film Festival.
