REMINDER: 2,400 Children to Receive Brand-New Backpacks Bursting With New School Supplies!

MONTREAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 19, 2014) - With summer drawing to an end, parents must start thinking about 'back-to-school' and the increasingly high prices of school supplies. When you include school fees, school supplies, back packs and everything else that back-to-school entails, it costs parents at least $519 per child - an unrealistic amount for the thousands of disadvantaged families that knock on our doors daily. To help these families get their children ready for the school year, Welcome Hall Mission is giving away over 90,000 articles with an approximate value of $140,000 to over 2,400 underprivileged children in Montreal!

We are privileged to welcome Senator Jacques Demers, former NHL head coach of the Montreal Canadians, as the spokesperson for this event! From meagre beginnings, he overcame illiteracy, encouraging youth to stay in school:

"Back to school should be an enjoyable and memorable event for every child, no matter the environment from which he comes. A backpack filled with school supplies can make the difference between a child who stays in school and one who drops out. A child's educational background is important and this is why it gives me great pleasure to support the 'Rentrée la Tête Haute' event and Welcome Hall Mission's efforts." - Jacques Demers

WHAT: 2 fun-filled days of activities (sports, trampoline, inflatables, velcro wall climbing, face painting etc.) and school supply distribution to over 2,400 children

WHEN: August 19th & 20th - 9a.m. - 4p.m. (Closed 12-1p.m.)
