BC Health Coalition invites citizens to discuss public health care solutions

Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Health/Medical Editor, News Editor VANCOUVER, BC, NOTICE TO EDITORS--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 18, 2007) - The BC Health Coalition invites Nanaimo and area residents to participate in a discussion of public solutions to local health care challenges.

The forum will take place Monday, February 19, 6:30pm - 9:00pm at the Bowen Park Complex, Activity Room One, 500 Bowen Road in Nanaimo. Speakers will include Joyce Jones, co-chair of the BC Health Coalition, and Rich Hagensen, of the Campbell River-Courtenay Citizens for Quality Health Care.

"This forum is an excellent opportunity for citizens to have a real conversation about positive, public solutions that will make health care stronger in British Columbia. We need to be breaking down the myths about the need for further health care privatization in B.C.," says Hagensen.

Following presentations by the guest speakers, participants will come together to identify local issues and corresponding actions that can be taken to advance public solutions in their communities.
