The Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada invites you to participate in the 15th edition of the Montreal MS WALK on Sunday, April 26. Once again, this event will take place in Parc Maisonneuve chalet, beside the Montreal Botanical Garden.

Come out and walk with our two provincial spokespersons! This will be Robert Toupin's fifteenth year with the MS WALK and Sebastien Benoit will also join the WALK as provincial spokesperson. The Honorary Chair of the Montreal MS Walk, Mariano Costa, Pharmacist - Owner at Wal-Mart Health Counter, Saint-Leonard and Centre Laval, invites people to join the event: " Multiple sclerosis affects many of the people around us, and by pooling our efforts; we will succeed in finding a cure for this disease. Whether with family members, friends, or co-workers, you are all invited to come out and walk to raise money. Together we will end MS! We are just steps away from getting there! "

The MS Walk offers 5-km and 10-km routes, all of which are wheelchair-accessible, and provides refreshments at the rest stops, a light lunch, make-up, mascots, inflatable games and numerous prizes. Entertainment will also be presented all day long, including a warm-up with Cardio Plein Air, a dance workshop given by Studio Danse Montreal and some fast and furious percussion workshops offered by Groupe Samajam.

A challenge to fulfill hopes and dreaMS!

The provincial goal this year is to bring out 6,600 WALKers and to raise $1,390,000, which will be used to finance research and services for people who have multiple sclerosis (MS) and their families. In 2008, more than 6,000 participants raised $1,379 000, that is 4 % more than in 2007. Reaching our provincial goal will help us contribute to research into MS, the most widespread neurological disease in young adults in Canada; it affects three times as many women as men.
