REMINDER: Macdonald-Cartier Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Lane modifications during construction work

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 27, 2015) - Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists that as of Friday, March 27, the configuration of traffic lanes will be modified due to the completion of rehabilitation work on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge.

Until November 2015, the following lane configurations will take place:

  • Monday to Friday, from 6 to 9:30 a.m. (morning peak hours)-three Ottawa-bound lanes and two Gatineau-bound lanes will be open.
  • Monday to Friday, from 3 to 7 p.m. (afternoon peak hours) -two Ottawa-bound lanes and three Gatineau-bound lanes will be open.
  • During off-peak hours in the morning and afternoon, two lanes will be open in each direction.
  • For specific construction work, more restrictive lane closures will be required between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., where one lane will be open in each direction.

In addition to these lane configurations, some short-term closures will be required during this construction work. These closures will take place during off-peak hours.

The sidewalk next to the Ottawa-bound traffic lanes will be open to pedestrians and cyclists throughout this period.

The schedule may change due to weather conditions.

PWGSC encourages users to exercise caution when travelling in the construction zone and thanks them for their patience.
