Reminder: MADD Canada to comment on new Federal Legislation

New impaired driving legislation to be tabled by Justice Minister Tuesday morning

Attention: News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 21, 2006) - Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Canada will have spokespersons available throughout tomorrow to comment on the Federal Government's new impaired driving legislation, anticipated to be tabled Tuesday, November 21 shortly after 10 a.m.

It is expected that Justice Minister Vic Toews will hold a brief media session in the House of Commons foyer of the Parliament Buildings immediately after tabling the new Bill. MADD Canada's National President Karen Dunham will be present in Ottawa at the Minister's media event and through the day for follow-up media interviews.

For comments on the Government's initiatives and what they will mean for Canadians' safety on roads, MADD Canada's CEO Andrew Murie will be available via phone and e-mail throughout the day.

For details on Canada's impaired driving law and comments on what impact the new legislation will have in the fight against alcohol- and drug-impaired driving, Professor Robert Solomon is available via phone after noon hour.
