REMINDER/Media Advisory: Media Invitation to the 18th Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - Sept. 3, 2013) - Federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for the Canadian francophonie are meeting in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on September 4 and 5, 2013, for the 18th Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie. The theme of the conference is "Early childhood development: essential to the vitality of the French language and French-speaking cultures."

Mr. Greg Selinger, Premier of Manitoba and Minister responsible for Francophone Affairs, will chair the provincial-territorial meeting, and co-chair the federal-provincial-territorial meeting with the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Michel Boivin, Full professor, Ph.D. (Psychology), Université Laval Mariette Chartier, R.N., Ph.D., Professor and Research Scientist, Manitoba Centre for Health Policy
Theme: Early childhood development: essential to the vitality of the French language and French-speaking cultures
Michel Boivin and Mariette Chartier will deliver the opening address. They will talk about the importance of early childhood development as a crucial stage in human development. They will also discuss the specific characteristics of early childhood development in the Canadian Francophonie.

2:15 p.m. PHOTO OPPORTUNITY - Prior to the start of the conference proceedings
