REMINDER/Media Advisory: Public Health Agency of Canada

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 17, 2007) - The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is sending scientists and their mobile laboratory to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to assist in controlling the outbreak of the Ebola virus in that country. The PHAC team will support and work with the World Health Organization's team and the government of DRC.

At a briefing for media, Dr. Frank Plummer, Scientific Director General, National Microbiology Laboratory, will introduce the scientific team being deployed. There will be an opportunity to see the portable lab system and the equipment being sent.
