REMINDER: Media Advisory: World Premiere of "The Philosopher Kings" at AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Film Festival

WHAT: "The Philosopher Kings" will have its world premiere at SILVERDOCS on Thursday, June 18. Anticipation for the world premiere has been overwhelming as it sold out in four days. A standby ticket line will open up just prior to the screening. Tickets are available for the encore screening scheduled for Sunday, June 21.

"The Philosopher Kings" is one of 11 films competing at the 2009 AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Documentary Festival for the prestigious Sterling US Feature Award (previously awarded to 2008 Academy Award nominee "The Garden").

WHEN: World Premiere -- Thursday, June 18, at 7:15 p.m.

Encore Screening -- Sunday, June 21, at 1:15 p.m.

WHO: In attendance for the world premiere will be Director Patrick Shen, Co-producer Greg Bennick, and some cast members including Josue Laujenesse.

WHY: "The Philosopher Kings" is a breakthrough documentary that interweaves the real-world triumphs, tragedies, and life lessons of eight unique custodians who work for some of America's top universities (such as Princeton University, Duke University, University of California, Berkeley and Cornell University).

Josue Laujenesse is one of the extraordinary individuals featured in the film. Custodian at Princeton University by day and taxi driver by night, Josue works nearly 20 hours a day to support his family and finance a future water project in his native Haiti.
