Reminder - National Adoption Weekend Seeks Families for Homeless and Hurricane-Displaced Pets

WHAT:

More than 14,000 abandoned and homeless pets hope to find homes during the PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend. The bi-annual event also will help find homes for many of the shelter animals displaced by Hurricane Katrina as part of an ongoing effort.

WHY:

The weekend initiative is another way for PetSmart and PetSmart Charities to help unite homeless pets with families. More than 4 million abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats are euthanized each year in North America. Families who adopt a pet during this event will receive a special New Pet & Parent guide, with more than $35 in valuable PetSmart coupons.

WHEN:

Friday, Sept. 16: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 17: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 18: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
