DETAILS:
Demonstrating the value of human capital initiatives has become increasingly important in recent years as Industrial/Organizational (I/O) and Human Resources (HR) practitioners in nearly all industries have to defend their budgets and find ways to influence the bottom line. The challenge is that, although these practitioners know that human capital initiatives can and often do have a positive impact, it can be difficult to assess and communicate this to key stakeholders.

During his appearance at the IPAC 2015 Conference, Eric Sydell, Ph.D., director of Research and Innovation at SHAKER, and a panel of experts will discuss a business-outcome focused approach to demonstrating return on investment that can be applied in a variety of industry settings. Joining Sydell will be Melinda Seibert, personnel research psychologist at the National Security Agency; Michael Blair, manager of HR Strategy and Technology for Sprint; David Swiderski, research support specialist, Center for Human Services Research, University at Albany, State University of New York; and Shonna Waters, applied social scientist -- organizational strategist for the National Security Agency. Sydell and the other presenters will share how they have established and communicated the ROI of pre-hire assessment solutions in their specific contexts, leading to stronger partnerships with business leaders and ultimately, organizational change. Session attendees will learn about the challenges associated with measuring and communicating ROI as well as the opportunities for ethical, impactful calculations.

HR professionals and business executives interested in learning more about conducting ROI analyses to help demonstrate the impact of human capital initiatives to affect change at their organizations are encouraged to attend this informative session or connect with SHAKER at Booth No. F7.
