Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 5:00 PM EDT -- Stephen Tatter, M.D., Ph.D., neurosurgeon, and Michael Chan, M.D., radiation oncologist, co-directors of the Gamma Knife Program at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, will use the Leksell Gamma Knife® Perfexion™, the most advanced stereotactic radiosurgery available, to treat a metastatic brain tumor.

This broadcast cast will premiere on on October 27 at 5 PM EDT.

NEW VIRTUAL BRAIN TUMOR BOARD VIDEO: T12 Lesion, 39-year-old Male (ST)

This 39 YO male patient presented with back pain and leg weakness. Imaging studies were done and MRI revealed a lesion at T12. This was fairly extensively involved involving all areas of the bone. He had a CT guided biopsy done three times, which was negative. It was planned to do an intralesional resection but an initial open biopsy was done. This was sent for frozen section and came back consistent with plasmacytoma. He is now planned for radiotherapy and is being maintained in a brace for stability and comfort.
