Reminder - Valley High School Counselors, Students to Learn First-Hand About Aviation Careers

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 2, 2007 --

WHAT:  More than 50 career counselors from over 30 area schools will
       participate in a first-of-its-kind forum, Flight Path to the Future,
       to learn about professional and technical aviation-related
       occupations and obtain tools and resources to guide students
       interested in these careers. The same day, more than 40 Sylmar High
       School students will "shadow" mentors who work for Van Nuys Airport
       (VNY) and VNY tenants. The counselors and students will meet up at a
       lunch. Sponsors of career counselor event: VNY, LA Unified School
       District and the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley.

       Excellent opportunity for visuals of students shadowing
       professionals in job areas such as airfield operations, corporate
       flight operations, aircraft sales and management and more.
       Opportunity to interview area school counselors and other educators.

          about 60,000 students

       -- Karen Kukurin, the governor's deputy director and community
          liaison; LA City Councilmember Tony Cardenas; and Board of
          Education Members Jon Lauritzen and Julie Korenstein
       -- Panelists representing aviation trade and professional
          occupations, including officials or instructors from Cal State
          Northridge, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the Federal
          Aviation Administration, U.S. Service Academies, Van Nuys Flight
          Center and more

WHERE: Flight Path to the Future Career Counselors Forum: Go to the main
       entrance of the Airtel Plaza Hotel, 7727 Valjean Ave., anytime
       between 8 a.m. and noon. Parking will be validated.

       Job Shadow: Meet at Million Air, 16700 Roscoe Blvd. (east of Balboa

MORE:  VNY alone currently supports over 10,000 jobs. Thousands of jobs are
       expected to be available in LA County by 2014 in areas like
       aerospace engineering, aircraft/service mechanic work, installation
       and maintenance and more. The Flight Path to the Future event will
       help counselors learn how to better direct students into these
       fields, often based on vital math and science skills, and enhance
       this region's competitiveness.
