Remote Control Technology Teams Up With the Columbia Group and the United States Navy to Provide a Custom Handheld Wireless Solution

The Navy Required a Simple Wireless Solution to Launch and Recover the Lockheed Martin Remote Multi Mission Vehicle (RMMV) From the Navy's Littoral Combat Ships (LCS)

REDMOND, WA--(Marketwire - March 7, 2011) - Remote Control Technology (RCT) was tasked with finding a simple wireless solution that could be customized to fit the United States Navy's needs. The United States Navy required a handheld wireless system that would be able to deploy and recover the Remote Multi Mission Vehicle (RMMV) from the new Navy Littoral Combat Ships (LCS). In partnership with the Columbia Group, RCT was able to fully customize a Long Range Wireless Handheld System.

Because of the Navy's strict requirements pertaining to radio frequencies, the application proved challenging. RCT was able to assign a specific frequency to the handheld systems and provide security coding so the chosen frequency was secure. The frequency change was only the first step in developing the custom solution. Once the frequency was set, RCT designed the handheld transmitter to meet all the US Navy's needs.

RCT has extensive experience dealing with custom wireless applications ranging from small business to fortune 500 companies. Some of the larger companies that RCT has worked with are: Boeing, L3 Communications, Northrop Grumman, Laser Guidance, Stoneway Cement, Ford, Puget Sound Energy, SAIC, US Army Corps of Engineers and Raytheon to name a few. Remote Control Technology takes pride in its ability to find wireless solutions for complicated applications.
