RemoteMDx Reports Order Backlog for Its Offender Monitoring Service, Even Prior to Volume Availability

Early Orders, Potentially Worth $4.4M in Recurring Revenue, Indicate Pent-Up Demand for Unique TrackerPAL Offer Among Criminal Justice and Parole Agencies

SANDY, UT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 7, 2006 -- Remote MDx (OTC BB: RMDX) today reported that the order backlog for its unique TrackerPAL system and offender monitoring service has surpassed 2,000 units, even before volume production models are commercially available.

Through its wholly owned SecureAlert subsidiary, RemoteMDx provides a uniquely differentiated offender monitoring service designed to protect communities from convicted offenders and predators who are under supervision. The business is based on a recurring revenue model for its 24/7 Monitoring Center, coupled with patented technology that combines GPS global positioning, two-way voice communications and application-specific software, all packaged in one compact tamper-resistant device worn by the offender. On the basis of the pre-production orders, the recurring revenue potential from ordered units is nearly $4.4 million annually.

"The early orders we are signing for evaluation are an indicator of the pent-up demand for such a unique offering," commented Randy Olshen, SecureAlert president. "Overburdened law enforcement and parole officials are realizing that the combination of our patented technology and unique 24/7 Monitoring Center offers an attractive alternative to the cost of hiring more officers to manage the ever-growing caseload. Real-time, two-way communications plus location awareness added to round the clock monitoring is a combination no one else has today."

SecureAlert offers parole agencies a turnkey service including equipment, real-time monitoring and training. The responsible enforcement agency directs SecureAlert's Monitoring Center to establish parameters of movement by parolees or known predators, and any breach in the pre-established rules by each offender triggers an alarm. At any time of day or night, the professionally trained agents are able to converse in real time with the offender through the built-in communications capability, as well as summon police if necessary.

TrackerPAL products and monitoring services are designed to help law enforcement and criminal justice agencies cope with the cost of managing and paying for a jail population that has grown by 300% over the past 20 years, at an average cost of $65/day. In comparison, SecureAlert's unique real-time service can guard against violations by offenders under house arrest, on parole or under court injunction at one-tenth the cost.
