Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel Adds Two New Chefs to Its Culinary Team

ELIZABETH, NJ--(Marketwired - Nov 1, 2013) - The Renaissance Newark Airport hotel has added two new chefs to its culinary team, it was announced by Gregory Martin, Executive Chef. 

Chef Kristin Nemeth joins the hotel as the Ironbound's Specialty Restaurant Chef. A graduate of the Hotel, Restaurant & Institute Management program at Middlesex County College, Chef Nemeth trained in various kitchens in New Jersey as a line cook and saucier at a Tuscan-style restaurant and a sous chef at a bed and breakfast. She comes to the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel from the Bridgewater Marriott, where she held the positions of Banquet Captain, Banquet/Line Cook, purchaser, Kitchen Supervisor, and Specialty Restaurant Chef at T-Bones Steakhouse. She possesses a keen eye for artfully composed plates, the freshest ingredients, and beautiful micro-local product which make Ironbound the place to be.

Chef Valmy Judes comes from within the Renaissance Newark Airport to assume the position of Sous Chef. A graduate of the New York Restaurant Culinary School, Chef Judes joined Marriott in 1989 as Lead Steward at the Hanover Marriott. Working his way up the ladder, he has honed his culinary skills. Since joining the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel in 2009, Chef Judes has continued to enhance his craft and management style.

The Ironbound Restaurant takes its name from the Ironbound neighborhood of Newark, which is a cultural melting pot. At the turn of the century, forges and foundries in the area lured workers from all across Europe and in 1910 a second wave of immigrants came from Portugal and Italy.
