Rep. Barney Frank to Keynote American Banker Regulatory Symposium

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 23, 2011) - American Banker and National Mortgage News announce that Rep. Barney Frank, D-MA, will keynote the publications' inaugural regulatory conferences to be held Sept. 19 and 20 in Washington, DC. The American Banker Regulatory Symposium and National Mortgage News Mortgage Regulatory Forum will be co-located at the Washington Marriott.

Rep. Frank, the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee, along with John Walsh, Acting Comptroller of the Currency, Martin Gruenberg, Acting Chairman, FDIC, and Shelley Moore Capito, R-WV, outspoken member of the House Financial Services Committee, will address the attendees of both events during joint sessions.

The events will give regulators and legislators the opportunity to address the industry, and its concerns, about the effects that regulatory reform are having on banks, lenders, consumers and the economy. Other sessions at the events will be led by senior executives from banks and lending institutions who will address how their firms are coping with the new regulatory paradigms.

The events will be chaired by Rob Blackwell, American Banker's Washington Bureau Chief, and Mark Fogarty, Editor-in-Chief of National Mortgage News.
