Leading Alberta company lessens its environmental footprint by choosing 100% Alberta Wind Power

Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Environment Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor CALGARY, ALBERTA, MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - April 18, 2008) - Alberta's Good Earth Cafes Are Now 100% bullfrogpowered?

Leading Alberta company lessens its environmental footprint by choosing 100% Alberta wind power.

CALGARY, Alberta - April 8, 2008 - Calgary-based Good Earth Coffeehouse and Bakery is proud to announce that it will power all its cafes with Alberta-made 100 per cent wind power from Bullfrog Power, as of Earth Day 2008. This will reduce Good Earth's environmental footprint by over 500 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Under the agreement, Bullfrog will provide clean, renewable power to Good Earth's 11 Calgary cafes, plus one each in Red Deer and Edmonton.

"We're proud of this step." says Connie Chan, Director of Marketing. "It is consistent with our ongoing move toward sustainability for our company, our community and our planet. We want to be responsible and create a sustainable business in a sustainable community; and we have a responsibility to set an example and show other businesses how they can contribute to sustainability"

"As a business owner and private citizen, I am fully supportive of Good Earth's move towards green energy," says Robert Dickinson, Franchise Operating Partner of the Good Earth Cafe in Glenmore Landing. "Taking this step allows us to increase awareness of sustainable energy sources amongst our customers and staff and demonstrates that they too can make choices that will have a positive impact on the planet. It may cost us a little more but it's a choice that needs to be made."

"We're proud to work with Good Earth on greening their operations," says Theresa Howland, Vice President, Western Region, Bullfrog Power. "Good Earth has been a supporter of Bullfrog since our launch in 2007, and this expansion to power all of its cafes is a strengthening of our relationship, and an example of what two good corporate citizens can achieve for the environment. Good Earth sets a great example that we hope other Alberta businesses will follow."

Providing green power for Good Earth's locations will not require any special equipment or wiring. Bullfrog Power will simply inject clean, emissions-free EcoLogoTM-certified electricity into the Alberta electricity grid to match the amount of power used by the cafes, just as it does for thousands of homes and hundreds of organizations in Alberta and Ontario. In Alberta, Bullfrog sources its 100 per cent made-in-Alberta wind power from wind farms in Southern Alberta.
