REPEAT: Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario Honours Outstanding Educators

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 18, 2008) - On April 18, 2008 the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario (CPCO) will present its annual awards at the London Convention Centre in London, Ontario during the 10th anniversary gala dinner. CPCO will present district awards for Principal of the Year to the following recipients: Peter Cerra, principal of St. Bernadette Separate School Sault St. Marie; Kathleen Fraumeni, principal of St. Mary Choir & Orchestra School, London; Ted Gorski, principal of Regina Mundi Catholic College in London; Margaret Gardonio, principal of James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School in Toronto; Brian Peters, principal of Special Education for the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario; and Maureen Wills, Principal of Program with the Brant Haldimand Norkfolk CDSB.

Louise Ervin, president of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association from December 2000 to May 2004 will receive the Fr. John Redmond Award for outstanding contribution to Catholic education in the province of Ontario. She also served as president of the Canadian Catholic School Trustees' Association from 2000 to 2002. Louise is the longest serving trustee with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

Kevin Mulvey, principal of St. Joseph's High School in the Windsor-Essex CDSB, will receive the Distinguished Service Award for contributions to the membership of the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario.

Don Rait, principal of Fr. F.X. O'Reilly Separate School in the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, will receive the Past-President's Award for his seven years of service on the provincial executive. Don Rait served as CPCO president from July 2006 to June 2007.

Lou Rocha, Executive Director of the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario, will be honoured with the Award of Excellence. This prestigious award is presented from time to time for outstanding contribution to the membership of the Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario. Lou has served as the executive director of CPCO since 2000 and is a former principal with the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
