Dobson will make his remarks on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Westin Bayshore Hotel (1601 Bayshore Drive in Vancouver) to delegates attending the convention of the Hospital Employees' Union.

Dobson is the MP for the central London riding of Holborn & St. Pancras and served as Tony Blair's first health secretary from 1997 to 1999.

He has held a seat in the British House of Commons for 31 years.

He is a critic of market-based reforms to UK's National Health Service in the UK often touted by the B.C. Liberal government as a blueprint for policies such as the recently introduced patient-focused funding.
