TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 7, 2012) - The Royal Canadian Military Institute (R.C.M.I.) and Tribute Communities will officially unveil the cornerstone for the new home of the R.C.M.I. and The Residences at R.C.M.I. on University Avenue.

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will be on hand to inspect a 100-man honour guard. As Patron of R.C.M.I., he will also unveil the new cornerstone along with the two originals. The new cornerstone will be placed at the base of the iconic 42-storey tower, which preserves the legacy of the original R.C.M.I. headquarters within its lower six floors on this heritage site.

A massed band with pipes and drums will march on University Avenue southbound between Dundas and Armoury to celebrate this event. The Guard and Band will be made up of members from Reserve regiments of The Canadian Forces 32 Brigade Group.
