Replay Solutions Launches First Ever Hosted Record/Replay Solution for Enterprise Java and Cloud Application Teams

The Complexity of Computing Environments Today Demand More Efficient, Integrated Approach to the Application Lifecycle

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2010) - Replay Solutions (www.replaysolutions.com), a pioneer in application lifecycle, software debugging and problem resolution technology, today announced a hosted version of ReplayDIRECTOR™, the company's patented DVR-like solution for security issues, performance problems and application defects. Replay Solutions revolutionary "record and replay" technology allows users to identify, reproduce and fix software defects in minutes.

Replay Solutions is also announcing a promotion today with aggressive pricing to introduce organizations not already using ReplayDIRECTOR to the new and improved approach to software operations, development and testing that record/replay enables.

"Software application teams face new challenges today they did not face just a few years ago. New technologies have made building and managing software more challenging. Global teams are now dealing with technologies including virtualization, cloud computing and clustering," said Jonathan Lindo, co-founder and CEO of Replay Solutions.

"This product launch is the result of a tremendous amount of research, working closely with our customers to develop the quickest path to identify, reproduce and fix software defects in production, development and QA. We believe it represents a revolutionary step forward for the software industry."

Theo Nissim, CEO of Gemini Solutions, commented, "Our approach to resolving defects has improved dramatically with ReplayDIRECTOR. The time we spend resolving defects has dropped quantifiably by over 50%. This has resulted in a very significant ROI for my company."

New features of ReplayDIRECTOR 3.0 include:

-- Cloud Hosted Solution: Teams can now use ReplayDIRECTOR as a secure, hosted service. No servers need to be installed allowing teams to be up and running in 5 minutes, with no infrastructure to manage.

-- Visual Recording: A new feature captures what was on the end-user's screen during recording. Reproduce the exact end-user experience in seconds for faster root cause analysis.

-- Enhanced Web Collaboration: A completely redesigned Web 2.0 interface enables rapid team collaboration across multiple locations, integrating seamlessly with existing tools and workflows. New web features include 'Click-to-Replay', a one-click method of reproducing any issue.

-- Replay Markers: ReplayDIRECTOR 3.0 introduces the concept of Markers which pinpoint the root cause of almost any security, performance or application issue in a recording, and are used to replay to the precise moment of failure in the code. Markers can be created by end-users, automatically as a result of software errors, or by external tools such as application performance monitoring tools via the Replay API.

-- Increased integration: Expanded support with leading Web platforms including: WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss, Linux, Windows and more. Replay has also dramatically improved integration with the Eclipse IDE.

"Replay Solutions is leveraging virtualization technology to transform the application lifecycle. We all know that software development is complex and expensive. For the first time in history, the defacto nature of a technology, virtualization, is adding to software complexity and also enabling new solutions to eliminate common roadblocks and barriers in the development process," said Theresa Lanowitz, founder and principal analyst of voke, Inc. "Solutions based on virtualization deliver clear, quick ROI and increase productivity in new ways that eliminate tactical activities and enable experts to focus on delivering results. All software organizations need to use tools such as ReplayDIRECTOR 3.0 in order to enable teams to instantly share complex environments to identify, debug, and resolve defects."

How it Works

ReplayDIRECTOR functions like a DVR for enterprise Java applications -- recording inputs and events affecting the application with the ability to "rewind" and replay any error or scenario exactly as it happened.

ReplayDIRECTOR does not replay screen captures, but virtualizes the original environment in which the defect occurred and re-executes the software during Replay on a single computer. This eliminates the need to recreate the database, application load or any other component that was present during the recording.

With the new, hosted version, storage and access to the recordings is provided by Replay Solutions. The team collaboration features are delivered over the Web, simplifying the setup process and IT infrastructure required, enabling companies to be up and running in minutes.

"Replay has been proven to dramatically accelerate the software lifecycle and save companies valuable resources while improving quality and meeting SLAs," explained Jonathan Lindo, CEO and co-founder of Replay Solutions. "One company estimated more than $1million in savings using ReplayDIRECTOR on a recent project, and with our hosted version anyone can be up and running in 5 minutes. We're inviting companies to join the movement that is now making recording systems a standard part of the workflow by trying ReplayDIRECTOR today."
