SAN RAMON, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 11, 2013) - Reply! Inc., the leading marketplace for locally-targeted advertisers, is kicking off Silicon Valley's season of giving by hosting its third annual invitation-only event, "Holidays with a Purpose," which will benefit the Mona Foundation and the Tahirih Justice Center. This event will be held on December 12th at 12pm PST at the Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel in Menlo Park, CA.
"Every year we promote two nonprofit organizations both because of our passion for what they do and also because we believe they are great examples of how impactful nonprofits should be operated," said Payam Zamani, Founder and CEO of Reply.com. "Mona Foundation and Tahirih Justice Center are excellent organizations with impeccable track records that are making a measurable impact in the world. I look forward to a very successful 'Holidays with a Purpose' event that will allow us to offer our collective support to their good work."
Contributions at last year's event supported two causes: the Mona Foundation, whose main objectives are to provide quality education to all children, raise the status of women and girls, and build community capacity in areas where its partner projects are located, as well as the FEED Foundation, whose mission it is to support programs and organizations that are effectively working to fight hunger and eliminate malnutrition throughout the world.
The Tahirih Justice Center is Reply.com's newest beneficiary to this annual event. Founded by Layli Miller-Muro, the Tahirih Justice Center works to protect immigrant women and girls seeking justice in the United States from gender-based violence. Leveraging both in-house and pro bono attorneys, they empower their clients to achieve justice and equality through holistic direct legal services and national public policy advocacy.
"By the time a woman or girl reaches Tahirih, she is already a hero. Reply! Inc.'s support will ensure that she has access to the critical services she needs to rebuild her life," said Layli Miller-Muro, Founder and Executive Director of Tahirih Justice Center. "Every day, we hear incredibly sad stories from women fleeing human rights violations, including domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Every day, we are equally awed by our client's courage and resilience, and by the compassion of supporters such as Reply! Inc."
We are grateful that Rainn Wilson, a long-time Mona Foundation and Tahirih Justice Center supporter, and an actor and comedian best-known for his role as "Dwight" in NBC's hit television show, The Office as well as Andy Grammar, the acclaimed singer, songwriter, and musician will be joining us for this event.
"A society's future depends a great deal on the educational opportunities it provides to its children," said Rainn Wilson, "My personal visits to several of the Mona Foundation's projects have shown me the impact of contributions, no matter how small, in enabling grassroots organizations around the world to provide a better and sustainable education to their future generation."
Reply.com's benefit last year raised $175,000 for the Mona Foundation and the FEED Foundation. This year's event aims to raise $200,000 collectively for the Mona Foundation and the Tahirih Justice Center.
